Air Switches Are A Safe Alternative
For safe actuation of electrical devices such as motors and pumps in hazardous environments or in close proximity to water, Presair designs and supplies a wide range of air switches with compatible foot and hand operated bellows controls. Presair offers a variety of air switch functions including momentary and latching (SPDT or DPDT), and three or four function sequencing air switches. Our air switches can sense pressures as low as 0.25 inches of water for long distance tubing applications.
Presair bellows controls include ergonomic foot actuated designs in addition to hand operated and panel mount push button type controls. The low profile foot bellows (B350BA) are easy to operate fixed or mobile. The popular B141 air bellows are ideal for both foot or hand operation and output a large amount of air volume making these ideal for a number of applications.
A variety of our air switches and bellows are commonly used as spa controls for lighting, heaters and blowers. Because air switches are a safe alternative to turn appliances on/off, they are also the best solution for other wet environments, such as your bathroom or kitchen. As someone is washing dishes, they may want to turn on a light above the sink or turn on the garbage disposal. Rather than using your standard wall switch, an air switch can be used which will prevent the user from experiencing electrical shock! Presair has a wide selection of attractive air bellows, such as our B370 series shown below, to fit any home decor!
Our PBA-01/PBM-01 electrical box is a self contained unit that plugs directly into a 120 volt outlet and has the switch outlet on the back. You can plug your appliance into this. The unit contains an air switch that connects to air tubing leading to an air button. When that air button is pushed the user can power on the appliance, such as bathroom lights or fans, safely. You can also directly wire the air switch to control your lighting, fans, or heat lamps within the wet area such as the shower or bathtub!
Presair’s air switches and bellows are also commonly used in patient handling and other medial applications. The pneumatic controls are available with many different tubing options and colors to fit the application’s needs. Many of our air switches and bellows are in stock as a low cost solution. Custom options such as logos, other colors, etc. are available.
Presair air switches deliver complete electrical isolation with zero voltage at the point of actuation. The air switching system connects the air switch to an air bellow using air tubing. When the air bellow is pressed, it sends a pulse of air through the tubing actuating the air switch.
Presair air switches cost is comparable or lower than conventional controls to meet the needs of the original equipment manufacturer.
