These switches allow for simple electrical on/off control over pressures. As pressure goes up, one contact opens as the other closes. This provides a perfect solution for monitoring, controlling, & notifying. All are field adjustable, but can be preset at the factory, if preferred.
Dual switches are also available, factory set to operate two separate microswitches at different pressure settings. These switches come in multiple body styles, providing the necessary versatility for air hose connections.
Presair manufactures pressure switches with accuracy in mind. Our standard pressure switches have a deadband of ±10%, & custom options can be built for a tighter or wider deadband.
Pressure switches can be adjusted by rotating the hex screw located at the center of the pressure switch.

Pressure switches are measured by inches of water, or PSI. Once the switch rises or falls the contacts will open and close based on the hysteresis, or deadband.
Read a more detailed explanation here.
Pressure switches push against the diaphragm & plunger inside the switch versus a vacuum switch pulls the diaphragm away from the plunger inside the switch. Another way to think of vacuum switches is a negative pressure switch. Here’s an illustration to help!
