Presair switches are designed & manufactured in Eau Claire, Wisconsin U.S.A.

Presair manufactures adjustable vacuum switches engineered for field-set applications across a wide range of systems. These switches allow users to set actuation points directly in the field to match project-specific requirements. All models are built to precise standards to meet the needs of original equipment manufacturers and instrument builders seeking stable performance, repeatable accuracy, and cost-effective solutions.

These switches provide simple electrical on/off control based on vacuum level. As vacuum increases, one contact opens while the other closes, enabling precise monitoring and control. All models are field adjustable using the hex screw located at the center of the housing. Factory preset configurations are also available.

Dual vacuum switch models are available and can be factory set to operate two separate microswitches at different vacuum thresholds. Multiple body styles and air hose connection options support flexible installation across various applications.

Presair vacuum switches feature a standard deadband of ±10%. Custom deadband settings are available upon request for tighter or wider response tolerances.

Frequently Asked Questions

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED.

How do I adjust my vacuum switch?

There is a small hex screw located at the bottom of the switch. Turn this screw clockwise or counter clockwise to adjust.

My application will expose the vacuum switch to hazardous chemicals and/or gases. How will this affect the switch’s performance?

We offer a variety of diaphragm material options to meet different application needs.

Here’s a guide to the different options available.

My application has a small or large amount of current. What are the vacuum switch ratings?

We offer a variety of micro switch options to meet application requirements up to 25 Amps @ 240VAC. Learn more  here!

What do you mean by inches of water rising / falling?

Vacuum switches are measured by inches of water, or inches of mercury. Once the switch rises or falls the contacts will open and close based on the hysteresis, or deadband.

Read a more detailed explanation here.

What’s the difference between a pressure and vacuum switch?

Pressure switches push against the diaphragm & plunger inside the switch versus a vacuum switch pulls the diaphragm away from the plunger inside the switch. Another way to think of vacuum switches is a negative pressure switch. Here’s an illustration to help!
